Wood fired vs Electric Sauna

It’s one of the first questions we address on our calls at Nomad Sauna and the question really boils down to this:

How much do you like starting fires?

I’m the guy who would start multiple fires per day every day of my life . If we’re at a campfire together, I will fight with you to start the fire, and it will get awkward.

Fire for me is more than ritual. I find myself in the flames.

If that’s not you, then go electric!

It’s hard to top the convenience of wifi controls, precise heating control, and push button start.

They all get hot. They all produce steam. There’s no right answer.

80% of our backyard installs are electric. Most people want convenience at their homes.

Some people (like the guy below who custom built a wood rack to match his new sauna) want more than convenience though.

I love when people choose woodfired for their backyards, because it’s a statement.

It’s a recognition that heat is about more than temperature.

That the alchemy of sauna is about more than kilowatts and cubic feet.

That not only do we find ourselves on the bench
