There’s something about summer that makes you look at your home a little differently.

We recently completed a beautiful built-in project that transformed part of this home in a really meaningful way.

The homeowners repurposed their three-season porch into a welcoming social space just off the kitchen. We installed alder built-in lower cabinets with six floating shelves above, all designed with classic shaker-style doors.

Here in Minnesota, three-season porches sometimes feel more like three-week porches, so turning this space into a cozy gathering area was a great use of square footage.

We also added an additional built-in near the kitchen, painted white with shaker doors. It provides much-needed storage along with open shelving to display décor and personal pieces that make the space feel warm and lived-in.

Custom cabinetry can make a big difference in how a home functions—and how it feels.

📢 We’re hiring! Nigon Woodworks is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented CNC Operator to join our growing team in Rochester, MN.
This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday, with a flexible schedule and a great benefits package including health & dental insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, and more.
If you’re mechanically inclined, love working with your hands, and want to build a career in custom cabinetry and woodworking, we’d love to hear from you. CNC or woodworking experience is a bonus — but not required. We’re happy to train the right person.
