According to Google: "The modern hot dog (sausage in a bun) was invented by Charles Feltman, a German immigrant and baker, in 1867 at Coney Island, New York. Feltman began serving "dachshund sausages" inside warm milk rolls so beachgoers could eat them conveniently without burning their hands.While the specific combination of sausage and bun is credited to Feltman, the hot dog's global roots are heavily debated: Frankfurt, Germany: Claims to have originated the "frankfurter" as early as 1487.Vienna, Austria: Claims to be the birthplace of the 'wiener.' A butcher named Johann Georg Lahner is often credited with refining the recipe in the early 1800s by mixing beef and pork.The actual term 'hot dog' was popularized years later. It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of all things Cajun and Créole. It's the reason I got into making my own seasoning blends! My CAJUN OBSESSION Blend was my first, and I'd say, still my favorite - and definitely the most versatile - All-purpose Blend. Amberfire Glaze makes the perfect flavor profile compliment as the finishing glaze!! 🥰
These Baby Back Ribs from Triano's got the low 'n' slow treatment 💨💨 @ 225° for the first half of the cook, and spent the other half wrapped and put back on to braise at 250° before glazing at 275°. There weren't any left! Sides were corn bread in a cast iron skillet, and one of The Mrs.' favorites, Broccoli salad. It's got bacon crumbles, shredded sharp cheddar, finely diced jalapeños 🫑&🧅

It was a 'Kraut making weekend. Into the fermenting crock it went, and it'll be ready in about 8 weeks; keeping for months. It's a super healthy probiotic and nutrient packed powerhouse (esp. Vitamin C) that also reduces inflammation. 😉
