Have you ever walked into a room… and felt the ceiling was too low?

Before you renovate.
Before you spend $40,000 on a structural change.

Let me tell you what your brain is actually doing.

Your brain draws lines.

The second it sees a white trim against a colored wall — it reads that as a border. A boundary. A stopping point.

And the ceiling feels lower.

But the second that trim disappears into the wall — same color, same finish — your brain loses the boundary.

The wall just… keeps going.

You’ve gained 6 inches without touching a single thing structurally.

Real wood trim. Crown molding. Base boards.
Paint them the wall color.

Let your brain do the rest.

This is not a design trick — it’s neuroscience. And it costs you one can of paint.

DM me HOME and I’ll tell you exactly what finish to use. ✨

back on WJR 760AM — tomorrow. 🎙️

it is truly an honor and a pleasure to be on The Inside Outside Guys. third time — and I mean it every single time.

I love these two gentlemen, they are amazing and the topic never gets old.

The Psychology of the Spaces We Live In.

Have you ever walked into a home and just felt calm — before you even knew why?

that’s not accident. that’s your brain doing exactly what it’s wired to do.

tomorrow we talk about all of it — color, texture, material, light — and what your brain actually does the second you walk through a door.

tune in tomorrow morning at 8:30am and you’ll never look at your home the same way again. ✨

… feel calm and happy. Why? Because your brain does something the second you walk into a space.

Have you ever walked into a room and just felt your shoulders drop — before you even knew why?

It’s not an accident.

Soft textures make you feel calm and happy — because our brain releases oxytocin the second we see them. ✨

That’s not luck. That’s not just “pretty furniture.” That’s your brain doing what it’s wired to do.

We don’t just style rooms. We design for the nervous system first, the eye second. Like these stunning Sapphire homes (image 1 and 4) were staged for the amazing Saba Katto.

Which texture in your home gives you that feeling? 🫶🏼

POV: you walk into your kid’s playroom and actually feel… calm. 🫶🏼

not chaos. not guilt. not “I should really do something about this room.”

just — oh. this is nice.

that feeling? it’s not magic. it’s design.

your brain releases stress hormones the second it detects visual clutter — even if you’re just walking past the door. most playrooms are working against your nervous system every single day. And your kids‘, too.

here’s what we did instead 👇🏼

✨ calm colors that don’t overstimulate
✨ storage that actually makes sense — everything has a home
✨ space that feels beautiful AND survives real kids

your kids play harder in a calm room. research shows it. and you finally stop closing the door on your way past.

this was staged inside one of the most stunning luxury homes in Southeast Michigan build by Sapphire Luxury Homes — and yes, the playroom got the full treatment.

because you deserve to love every room in your home.

not just the ones guests see. 🫶🏼

Add stripes!!!
Stripes SCREAM summer. There’s something about a stripe that says, “the season is here, and we’re living outside.” Maybe it’s the rhythm — back and forth - like the feeling of a hammock swinging or it’s because your brain instantly associates stripes with beach umbrellas, cabanas, deck chairs… When it comes to seasonal patterns, stripes are non-negotiable summer. Florals and pastels? That’s spring whispering. Plaids? Christmas is calling. Add some stripes. It won’t hurt 🫶🏼

When it comes to rugs, my philosophy is simple: GO. BIGGER.

Because size is status.

Tiny rugs make a room feel disconnected. A properly sized rug makes a room feel intentional, elevated and expensive.

Dining room? The table belongs on the rug. The chairs belong on the rug too — even when pulled out.

Bedroom? Yes, the bed goes on the rug. And yes… the nightstands too.

Living room? If half the furniture is floating outside the rug, we have a problem. 🙈

The goal is to create one grounded, calm, luxurious moment. That’s what makes a space feel professionally designed instead of randomly furnished.

Your kids’ toys on the rug though? That’s between you and your nervous system. 😂

Let’s forget Mother’s Day.
Not because I don’t love the flowers, the handmade cards, or the brunch reservations. I do. ❤️

But as moms we don’t do all we do because we’re waiting for applause once a year.
We do it because our hearts tell us to. 💕

And honestly? The real work happens on the other 364 days.

So instead of another “Happy Mother’s Day” post…
here are 3 systems that genuinely changed my everyday life as an outnumbered entrepreneur boys mom having my family overseas. Ready?

✨ 1. Get an AI assistant that works FOR you — not just with you. Cancel your ChatGPT.
Claude is better when you want to connect AI to your systems and devices to get real help instead of just adding more AI overwhelm to your life. Create your AI clone in Claude and have it do some heavy lifting.

✨ 2. I don’t cook dinner anymore!!
Okay technically… I do. But not at 6 PM in full chaos mode. 😂
I use TheFamilyFreezer and every third Sunday, we prep 15 freezer meals in about 3 hours as a family. Everything goes into freezer bags fresh and raw — no pre-cooking. So it does not taste re-heated.
Then in the morning, I pull one out, put it into the slow cooker, and dinner is DONE by 6 PM.

✨ 3. The box system
Every child gets labeled boxes in their closet: LEGO, notebooks, tools… and the MAGIC one box „mixed stuff“.
Because here’s the rule in our house: every single piece in their room has a place. Every. Single. Piece.
Now when I say “clean your room,” there’s no debate, no overwhelm, and no “Mom, where does this go?”

Motherhood became lighter the moment I stopped trying to “do it all” and started building systems that work for us.

Follow along for more real-life systems, beautiful chaos, and the behind-the-scenes of raising three wildly loved boys while building a business I adore.

Don’t redo your bathroom without seeing these tiles first. ✨

I have seen a lot of bathrooms. A LOT.

But this tile? Completely stopped me in my tracks.

Silver. Shimmering. Almost liquid-looking when the light hits it. Modern, glamorous, architectural — and honestly unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

This is the kind of detail that changes the entire feeling of a space. Suddenly the bathroom feels curated. Expensive. Memorable.

And here’s what luxury design does best: It creates emotion through unexpected texture and reflection.

The shine from this tile bounced light around the room like jewelry. Every angle felt different. Every movement caught something beautiful.

This is exactly why I always tell clients: Before you choose paint colors or accessories… choose the element that makes people stop and stare.

Would you put something this bold in your own home?
