A burn ban is currently in effect for Wilcox County. All outdoor burning is prohibited until further notice—including burning leaves, yard debris, trash, and controlled burns.
Dry conditions make it very easy for fires to get out of control quickly, putting homes, land, and lives at risk. Our emergency responders are already handling multiple fire calls, and your help is essential in preventing more.
⚠️ Failure to follow the burn ban may result in:
• Fines and citations
• Being held responsible for damages
• Possible criminal charges
If you see smoke or an active fire, please call 911 immediately.
Let’s all do our part to keep our community safe and support the men and women working hard to protect it.
