This is one of my favorite finds of the year, so far.
I recently found this pile of old copper street lantern parts at an antique show in Ohio.
I envisioned right away what it could look like so I happily bought it.
I spent the last few nights stripping all the layers of paint and beating out the dents. Then I had to disassemble it with the heat of a torch so that I could clean the joints and re-solder it. I did more soldering last night than I’ve done in my entire life.
To give you an idea of the size- the lantern itself stands at 4-feet tall from the base to the finial.
It will soon be mounted to a wall inside my house along with my other old & extravagant lights.
Anyway, here’s how it is turning out so far.
