Remember that Gladding now has High Efficiency Washers in the buildings. We save on energy and we save on water. You save on detergent. So make sure you purchase High Efficiency Detergent or HE Detergent. The machines will not use powder.

Smoking Policy Fall 2010-Spring 2011: All VCU residence halls will be smoke-free effective August 1, 2010. No smoking will be permitted within residence hall bedrooms, common areas, hallways, stairwells, outdoor walkways, balconies, courtyards, or within 25 feet of all residence hall entrances.

Think about what you are bringing in order to keep your load to a minimum. You will have plenty of days to travel home and get winter clothing, movies, books, etc. Move in lightly and bring more each time you go home.

When moving in you will probably want to bring a cart or a hand truck. We have a few that we provide, but they tend to go very quickly.

Did you know that GRC has grills available for you to use? Feel free to reserve a grill and hang out with your new friends in the courtyard. We also have plenty of room for frisbee, ball, and other outdoor activities.

There is limited elevator service in GRC I, no elevators in GRC II, and full service in GRC III. Please plan accordingly when you move in.

All apartments and suites in GRC come with a fridge. There is no need to buy one, rent one, or bring one.

The beds in GRC Phase I and II are bunked, with the exception of a few scattered throughout the building that are not bunked. They are all 80" (extra long). You will need extra long twin sheets to fit your bed. These can be found at most stores like Target and Walmart.
