Yesterday I was invited to do a pick at a home that burned down a few months ago. There wasn’t a lot left, but I did find a few pieces that I’ll be refurbishing over the next few months.

It was pretty sobering to see the remnants of all the beautiful things that were ruined. Fortunately, they are only things, there was no loss of life in the fire. Still, in a fire you don’t just lose your possessions, you lose the photos, keepsakes, children’s artwork, etc.

Picks many times are just digging through people’s stuff, but this one really made me think.

Set a modest goal of 100 sales for the period of Jan/Feb, more than 1 a day but not quite 2. So far for the month of January I’ve had 27. These are all between depop, eBay, marketplace, Poshmark, and whatnot. For whatnot I just count each package as one (even though it may consist of multiple sales for that person). Do you use goals to measure how you’re doing? If so what are they?

Sometimes things take a little extra TLC to bring them back to a condition that yields the most value. This little fabric shaver was well worth the $18.

Learned a valuable lesson today. I’ve been learning a lot over the last few months. Picking at the bins takes luck but there is also an amount of skill and habits you must have in order to be successful IMO. I truly love it.
