Today I had the privilege of representing our team and business in Nashville for a SBA award ceremony. We received the 2026 Rural Small Business of the Year for TN. It was amazing to be recognized alongside 5 other incredible businesses. I continue to be blown away by the things our team does to serve our customers and am grateful for every customer who has trusted us with your project. I'm always looking to the future and what is yet to be accomplished so I don't always recognize our accomplishments. This is a nice reminder that we have come a long way and I'm proud of our progress.

We recently had the pleasure of hosting 2 local 8th graders for a day of job shadowing. They were able to follow along as we worked, and hopefully they learned something from the experience. We love sharing our craft with young people hoping to inspire the "next" generation locally.

We have been quiet on here lately because we've been working hard to get a couple of schools projects built and installed. We were blessed with the opportunity to make some improvements at 2 schools in our community. One is for a high school's home sciences classroom and the other is an elementary school's science room. I'm also glad to have captured some of the team working hard in these pics because they are amazing and we're blessed to have them on our team!

We recently had the pleasure of having a student work on his capstone project with us. He got to go through the process of measuring, designing and building a piece for a specific space. During the build we talked about how design changes affect the timeline and complexity of our work. I'm grateful for our wonderful team who showed him our drafting process and hepled work on his shoe rack. Our hope is that this small project will help him in future endeavors. We're always grateful for the opportunity to work with students and teach about our craft.

We found out this week that we have been awarded the 2026 Rural Small Business of the Year for Tennessee! For someone who had no idea what I was doing when I started woodworking, I am both honored and humbled by the recognition. I am continually amazed by the work our team does and consider myself fortunate to be a part of the success. Locally, TSBDC Cleveland has positively impacted our business with great advice and learning opportunities for which I am grateful. We have also benefitted from coaching, mentoring and take advantage of every opportunity to learn from others.
