On November 21, 1981, Susann Gerstein, a stay at home mom, and two friends opened small change, to make it easier for parents to recycle everything their children need and outgrow. This friendly neighborhood shop has become a

gathering place for mothers and grandmothers looking for brand name and imported clothes, shoes, dancewear, cleats, toys, videos, strollers, cribs, high chairs, exersaucers and joggers – most at well under half the original price. With 1,200 active consigners each year, small change has become a community institution at Lake Anne Plaza.
