Hi - This is Lauren! Remember that piece that was donated to our Second Chances Program? After a slight delay (family emergency and an extended bout of bronchitis), I painted my first‑ever piece of furniture for the shop… and I’m officially obsessed 🎨
You all voted for Fusion’s Paisley, so that’s the direction we went — and she turned out beautifully. With Christine’s guidance, I cleaned the piece with Krud Kutter, scuff‑sanded, used Fusion’s TSP, added two coats of paint, did a little distressing on the edges, and finished with a top coat. Everything I used is available at the shop! I even dressed her up with hardware from Hobby Lobby that made it just perfect.
I so enjoyed this project. It was such a great experience, and I didn’t expect furniture painting to feel this therapeutic — but wow. I’m hooked and already excited for the next one.
