On our way back from a supply run this morning we spied these curvy beauties just sitting there waiting for someone to care.
Voila! Here we are!!!!
I love a nice Bombay- but TWO…. Two is even better!!!
You’ll have to stay tuned to see the final reveal but here’s a teaser to pique your curiosity!
I know I sure wanted to see what was under that dark lacquer!!!

Ohhhhh
This one is gunna be a SUPER transformation next week!!!
I’ll never dismiss anyone for trying to DIY their own tables. But just know- if it doesn’t work out the way you hoped…. We’re here to help!
Color wasn’t quite what she wanted. Finish did some weird fish-eyeing.

No worries. She’s in good hands.

Grandma and grandpa bought this set NEW in the 50’s. Now this 2026 couple is looking to make it their own!

It’s a really amazing set.
So come on the little journey and let’s see what we can do!
It’s getting everything!!! All wood stripped, all metal smoothed, treated for rust and repainted. All slider inserts replaced.

It’s gunna be GGGGREAT!!! 👌

Very specific goals on this gal
Rarely do we have a sample we’re working off of- but this week has been an ultimate challenge.

Taking prefinished DARKER wood and looking to lighten it up while maintaining some of the age and not lose that fabulous grain!!!

Of course stripping and chemical baths are always our Go-to start- but that was just the beginning!
It was actually the discoloration from the shield handles that turned out to be our biggest challenge. The exposed wood versus covered wood created a huge color difference that just kept resurfacing.
Turns out third time is a charm- because that’s how many attempts it took to get rid of it!

Timeless.
Elegant.
And perfectly aged.
I love when a piece comes together and lives to see decades more family life unfold!

Oh we took her home all right!
What a great weekend find! That black upholstery is in PRIMO condition with no cracks …. Just needs conditioning and some wood restoration.

Than she’ll be ready for a new life! 😘👌

We don’t mess with quality- especially if there’s an entire bedroom set to coordinate with.

Welp. Sometimes you start out real strong with the social media stuff and than …. Well we may have forgotten to press ‘play’ for the paint process.
But that’s ok…..
the transformation is undeniable!!!

It’s been awhile since we got to do traditional mahogany. Man….. it’s such a beautiful wood! So many rich tones!
Bonus points Because this client has a red brick fireplace and a painting going above this piece that will dance nicely together.

whew. What a week! We’ve got SIX finished pieces ready to roll and two more headed in next week!!!

So don’t go anywhere!
