Our Akaushie are finished on a first class corn ration without hormones or antibiotics. Akaushi beef naturally contains intense marbling. It is generally recognized that fat is responsible for the palatability of beef, but it is actually the monounsaturated fat that is responsible for the flavor. It is claimed that the marbling in Akaushi beef contains a much higher percentage of monounsaturated fat than any other beef in the United States. As a result Akaushi beef has a rich buttery flavor as well as juiciness and tenderness throughout.

Akaushi cattle are colloquially call red Wagyu. It is a Japanese breed originating from Kumamoto, Japan. The breed existed exclusively in Japan until the mid 1990’s when a small head of seed stock was exported to Texas.
