We have a few options for RTA (ready to assemble)cabinets, however, this is some of the writing on the wall I mentioned in s previous post. These options may not even be available after the first of the year. I’m confident we can still give highly competitive bids on custom work as prices on raw goods start to move. Kitchen and bath contractors are racing to order imported cabinets and vanities, with 25% tariffs now in place, and even higher ones scheduled for January.

This takes me back to working with my dad. Raised panels! Solid wood panels sure has a deep rich color after finishing compared to flat veneer shaker panels. Funny how trends come and go, been about 8 yrs or so since I done these (I really hope raised panels don’t become the “it” thing again 😂)

As we move into cooler weather, and uncertain times regarding the pricing of cabinet grade lumber, plywood and cabinet hardware, I feel it’s time to share some info. I’ve spoken to my suppliers and cabinet grade plywood has started to move up in price and hardware (drawer rails, door hinges) moved up in the last few days. My shop NEVER adds any costs to the price goods - I sell it what I purchase it at. The only thing I can do to deflect some of those costs is to buy in bulk - the more you buy the more you save, albeit we’re talking several dollars per sheet of plywood. Ive always been straightforward and honest about my prices and scheduling, with that being said, some of these costs will enevitiably be passed onto to the client. I don’t foresee it being too significant, but time will tell. I appreciate every client we’ve had - past, current and hopefully future. I’m confident I can still remain on the lower side of all bids, and provide quality work.
