Every autumn, I fall in love with our Timber Series all over again.

Maybe it’s the return to the outdoors - crunchy leaves, crisp air, long walks after an Iowa summer that was simply too hot to enjoy any of it.

Our Timber Series is our collection of live edge pieces, and they have that same feeling. A little wild. Completely beautiful. Knots, cracks and wandering grain become nature’s marks of character - perfect imperfections that reveal themselves slowly. Somehow, you notice something new every time you walk by.

We leave the natural edge just that: natural. No glossy varnish. Nothing that makes it feel too finished. Just a soft, matte surface that feels almost as though the tree has been brought inside.

Maybe autumn feels especially connected to Aronson because this is the season when our own story began.

We had just settled into our little acreage in Iowa when the emerald ash borer was beginning to take the ash trees around us. Clay started salvaging those trees - taking something that would otherwise be lost and finding a way to let its story continue.

Those trees became furniture. And, eventually, Aronson Woodworks.

All these years later, autumn still brings me back to that beginning.

Back to the trees. Back to the grain. Back to where we started. 🍂🍁🥮🫶🏻
