You look at a beautiful woodstove online, see a photo of it, and assume you can simply "click and collect" whenever you're ready. Here is the "frighteningly real" truth:

Manufacturers are no longer building for "stock." They are building for "orders." If we don't order your stove in the spring, the factory may not even start sourcing the specialized parts for it until it’s already too late for a pre-winter install.

When you factor in the current volatility in global energy markets—which are already driving wholesale fuel costs up—the demand for wood and pellet stoves is expected to surge. By the time most people realize they need to switch to wood or pellets to save on their heating bills, the production queue will likely be months long.

Because these components have such specialized, long lead times, those stoves can’t just be "rushed" through production when the weather turns.

Just a suggestion. With a pretty long and cold winter fresh in our minds and sharply elevated energy costs currently in place and future costs hard to predict, you may want to evaluate if getting a new wood or pellet stove or gas fireplace or stove is right for you. Problem is, the business models in the industry have changed in a way that shifts inventory burdens to dealers from the manufacturers. Dealers have to pay for their irreversible "early buy" decisions well before consumers come in to buy and market strength unfolds.

Given market uncertainties, dealers are reluctant to inventory at the levels they used to.

What that further means is that manufacturers will be processing and building new orders when they should have already have significant stock in dealer warehouses. This sets the stage for long delays in order completion this fall! People shopping in September will think they are early, but the new reality is that it may be too late for many if not all the most sought after models.

Bottom line... please come in ASAP to discuss the options and solutions you should be considering for you family's needs.
