I finally finished this reed case! The body is made of solid purpleheart pieces, and the inserts that hold the reeds are made of zebrawood. It’s double sided, and holds 12 contraforte reeds, so it’s a big improvement on my old one that only holds 6. I used butcher block oil as a finish (after trialing a bunch of other finishes; the butcher block oil seemed to preserve the purple color the best). This project taught me a lot about working with purpleheart, and I’m looking forward to the next time I get to use some!

You can attach chains to the bottom of the posts and hang it from your covered porch or gazebo as either a traditional swing or a glider rocker. This particular swing uses a crib mattress as its cushion, which makes a huge, comfortable seat for two people! You can choose a different sized mattress for your own swing, and you can also choose between stain and painted finishes. Prices vary according to options, so let's talk if you're interested in one! Welcome to Wilky Smoov Woodworking! My name is Tyler Wilkins. I make indoor and outdoor furniture, small home furnishings, and artwork.

I’m a full-time musician and am excited to officially launch this side business. The nickname Wilky Smoov was given to me by my brother-in-law. We were playing a high school jazz concert, I played a particularly “Smoov” solo, and it just stuck!
