A HEARTH IS BORN... 🙂

As the family members gathered around the fireplace, the heart of the home; the hearth was born. Framing the hearth is the mantel, also known as a mantelpiece. It’s original purpose is to serve as a hood to prevent smoke from entering the room, diverting it back into the chimney. Over the years it has taken on a new purpose. The mantel now shoulders the honor and nobility of the family. Which we all see our great family photos on or above, as the mantel shoulders and honors the ones that have come before who built the heart of the family.

We have the privilege to be included in creating the heart of this family. They came up with a beautiful design; aged Douglas fir, with a rich warm glow, and a hand rubbed satin finish. Measuring a hearty 72” long, 6” wide, and 5” thick.

Check in later, after we are able to hang this beauty in their home. A seek peek for now! 😉

These little people... 🍀😁
..it’s all about the little people!!! All they want do is eat and climb. They want a seat and or a table that fits them. Or maybe a stool that helps them get on the couch. Buster the dog doesn’t seem to mind being a stool but all he wants to do is nap.

Got the idea to put them all in one: stool,
table, and seat.

Made for a beautiful little girl named Ellie who loves to climb and her Dad is trying to give Buster a break.

A beautiful Christmas gift made from three species of wood coming together. The Sepele hardwood center carries the weight, while the Cherry surround supports and holds up the lighter outer softer bird eye pine. A design that seems to be holding the test of time. 😉

Another table is in the works. 😁 Tables are great to work on! This one is going to be just as awesome as the family it’s for. At a whopping 8ft long and 50inches wide, this hearty table will be able to accommodate a setting for 10.

With a beautiful table of this size, I can only imagine the food, laughter, and memories to come. 🍀

A blessing in the form of a table...
.. started as nothing more than a pile of wood

I love the luck of the Irish....🍀🤙
...because...
...Sometimes through grace it all comes together. We used a layer stain technique and I can’t be more pleased with the depth and warmth that this bench holds. Especially, on the lower shelf. I am sure those whom this bench will hold, will enjoy the warmth for years to come as well.
