Tails are cleaned and ready for pins. Not too shabby for some hand work. The hard part will be cutting the pins in the 8 foot long pieces that accompany these, but that's a task to figure out tomorrow.

I realized I never posted more pictures of this end table.

I'm calling it the Afton end table and there are plans available on my website.

There's also a video on the build process on YouTube.

And what can I say? It's a nice little end table that was build to be pretty, but prioritize stability so the legs sit at a compound angle to prevent tipping. There's a lower shelf to add to stability and provide storage. And it was made out of leftover Alder, which is light and has a uniform color.

The final version of the 2x4 table is the most complicated to make, the pro version.
Now it looks simple, but there are lots of angles, tapers, and some fun joinery (pinned, angled bridle joints and a half lap).
Add in some details like the under bevel and thumbnail profile and you get this splayed leg end table. And if it looks familiar, well that's because it is the same design as the pinned post on my profile. I made that former table before I started making YouTube videos and always wanted to make another one for a video because they are so fun to make.
And if you want to make one, well I have plans to help you out available on my website (link in bio)

The second in this series, the hobbyists version of an end table. A similar design to the DIY but with the ability to use a table saw and planer the 2x4s no longer look like 2x4s.
And yes, that entire table was made from Home Depot 2x4s, 2 to be exact.
Link in my bio to the plans for this table and stay tuned for tomorrow's pro version as well as the full build video coming in Friday 5/16.

This is a DIY friendly table and the first one I build in my latest video (coming 5/16) where I build three tables with three different tool sets.
Follow along and to see the next two tables leading up to the video on Friday where you can see how they were built, how long they took, and how much they cost to make.
Also, if you want to make one, I made plans for all three tables and this DIY friendly version is completely free so head over to my website and snag it. Link in bio.

I'm not sure what to call this table, so for now it's a sculpted base sapwood river table, and if you want to know more about how it was made there's a link to the build video on YouTube in my bio.
