Good evening all,

Just want to let you know that my DMR Repeater, N3OS, is on the air in Dade City. I have it up and running as of this afternoon. Frequency is 442.375 +. I have quite a few talk groups on it and they will probably be in a state of flux for a few weeks as kinks get worked out with the bridge. For now you can go with Local 2, FL State-Wide, SE Region to get you started.

Be sure to send me an email when you get on the machine and let me know the power, ht/mobile/base and the location you got into it from. I'd like to have a good idea of the coverage. Only running twenty watts so as to not tax this old 8300... Hope it works for you.

So far K4CBN, W4VCO, KA4LAO, K4VLP and myself have been on the machine. First two were south near Lakeland, KA was on SR 50 west of US 98. and K4VLP and I are right near the repeater.

Looking forward to hearing from all, and please share with those wanting DMR out here...

73,

Gary - N3OS

Thank you Gary Bill KI4QJK PAS 291A

Afternoon All,

The D-STAR system is all connected and the antennas are on the tower. The 1282.00 MHZ out, 1270.00 in voice antenna is at 225’. The 1295.00 MHZ data antenna is at 197’. The 443.750 MHZ antenna is at 164’ and the 147.135 MHZ is at 157’. The UHF and VHF antennas are pointing in a general SW direction and the 1.2GHZ antennas are pointed generally toward Tampa. Everything is hooked up, connected and turned on. Pasco County IT will make the final connection from the internet to the server and then to the controller tomorrow afternoon. Those of you that have D-Star radios keep trying and let me know if it is working or not. When IT tells me that the system is running I will run over to the EOC and try it from there. I would like to thank all who have helped get this put together.

Secondly, we will have the January 2018 ARES meeting on Saturday 6 January 2018 at 1100 HRS at the West Side EOC on Government Drive in New Port Richey. After running into a problem with one of the AR-270 antennas that we have we will tune these antennas so they are ready to go if needed for an emergency. I will also be discussing what the communication plans will be for the hopefully near future for ARES. Also John Leahy, KK4ITX will doing a presentation on antennas for HT’s, should very interesting and informative.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish a very Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year to you and your loved ones.

Morning All,

After much gnawing of teeth and pulling hair out the control server is done and ready for installation. Also the tower climbing crew is ready to climb. So MONDAY 18 DEC 2017 AT 0930 all will be at the Jackson Memorial site located at 13853 - 15th St. Dade City, FL. The tower crew will probably be there all week. They need to take 5 antennas down and then put our 4 up so at 250+ feet it will take them all week to get it done.
