Dahlias in Florida? Get ready to exercise your patience and gather your special bloom food, upside down tomato cages, three-in-one sprays, cow manure and be ready to buy tubers ahead of time to be delivered in the spring and planted in the fall. Everything that would normally be done with them is a little bit different because of the heat. It’s crazy town. But these big fluffy blooms! Just wow. 💕

I never knew how much I was going to love homemade soap. It seems silly, and I’ve had people ask me, what is the difference? Soap is soap. Except it’s not. Surprising that the texture and ingredients are noticeably better. It is time consuming. I’m pleasantly surprised… 💕 I’m wondering how I can fit this in and build up a good sized inventory. Definitely a commitment. Love the mango butter blend. This bar is colored with pink clay.

Gardening = Therapy. I
Miss my people they’re out of town for a few days. The botanical bunch pictured here always cheers me up. The pink landscape rose (common variety found locally at most stores) is the most gorgeous shade of salmon pink the pictures never get it right. I was trying to root a piece of shrimp plant think it is so pretty. It has lasted forever, but no roots. Beautiful basil, spearmint, green onion, cilantro and rosemary. The dahlia is a bit of an experiment. Fell in love with the blossoms, but they are extremely difficult to grow in Florida. I showed how I pinched the stems and caused extra shoots to grow. More branches = more blooms. Now we’ll see if it can survive the rain, heat, and humidity. If not, I’ll dig up the tuber and replant it in the fall. There’s even some cute okra that my husband makes fun of me for! 💕 I added my favorite donkey tail succulent and a gorgeous succulent plant my cousin gave me.

Something very fattening is going on here! LOL candied bacon experimenting with blackening seasoning and black pepper. Some with, some without. I’ve wanted to try making this for a very long time! It turned out great. The spice was where it’s at.

My bountiful harvest of one tomato! LOL Tomato, fresh basil and… what? The flavor is definitely off the chain compared to store bought tomatoes, but the plant wasn’t very prolific all season. I don’t think the beefsteak is
meant for containers.

Some cute little morning glories I’ve been growing from seed. I hear these can be invasive so careful. Why is it that every purple flower on a vine seems to like to be invasive? Love the heart shaped leaves too.

Wanted to share my favorite bean salad with you guys. It’s so natural and delish… I was out of carrots and added some cilantro. You will literally feel your cells perk up when you eat this. LOL Plus it’s really colorful when the carrots are included.
