D & B Nelson Edible Landscapes of Texas Our goal is to help people become healthier and more self-reliant through the installation of Edible Landscapes.

We are a co-operative installer with Food Forest Abundance, a permaculture landscaping company. We are David and Brenda Nelson, the owners of D&B Nelson Edible Landscapes of Texas. Normal lawns have all that grass and curb appeal, but at a huge cost. They require thousands of gallons of water and chemical additives, and hours of laborious maintenance with no yield. In contrast, we design, install,

and maintain Edible Landscapes, sometimes also referred to as "Food Forests", which are beautiful, sustainable AND functional landscapes based on natural systems, use no synthetic chemicals, and provide an abundance of fresh, organic, fruits and vegetables. We can also integrate animals such as chickens per client request. We also specialize in designing, building, and installing raised planting beds. We are located in central Texas/ San Antonio area and service all of south Texas. However, we can make a referral to other installers in our network around the state and installers are available in most states in the USA. I see we haven't posted in awhile. Had a pretty good haul of green beans and peppers this Fall. Also, we were delighted to see that our sweet potato experiment was successful. They were grown in two large tubs.

Now is the perfect time to start planning and preparing for a Spring garden. Did you know a properly constructed and irrigated raised bed requires very little maintenance throughout the growing season? It truly takes less time to maintain a raised bed garden than it takes to go to the grocery store, and you have the benefit of fresh, healthy produce. Raised beds have many advantages – they are easy to water with drip lines; it is easier to control weeds and grass; easier on the back when maintaining and harvesting; and they are an attractive addition to the yard.
