In a recent upgrade to outdoor security lighting. I wanted to provide a low cost alternative to the old 500 watt halogens that I had in the past. So I came up with a low cost alternative the incorporated the New LED technology with a low cost fixture. The 10.5 watt LED's ($12 each) provide the same amount of light as a 65 Watt incandescent and can last up to 22 years! I choose 65 Watts because it provides enough light to scare away any potential intruders, yet not blinding my neighbors.

The 2 bulb fixture is of a composite base material and cost about $14. Because the light switch for this fixture is located in the most remote part of the house I added a wireless fan remote, so that I can turn each light independently of each other from any location in my house within it range.

Total cost of this project is $65.60.
Yes, I could have used a light fixture with a motion detector but I found that the sensors fail over time & I hate false triggering.
