I’m back 😁 well my space is anyway 😂 I’ve missed you, I just filled up the little space Karen and I share at Plaid Umbrella -collective- Plano stop in and check it out. I have some Spring flower pot wreaths coming soon too. So many cute garden items including concrete pineapples 🍍 and beautiful aqua wire urns just waiting for your beautiful flowers 💐 to fill them. I’ve got some exciting news….if you missed my space at Plaid Umbrella I have some exciting news to share……while I am not moving back to Illinois we have decided to keep our home there and will be making an effort to visit every few months to see our two children living there as well as extended family and friends….so what does that mean for you? Well since I will be coming back regularly I’ve decided to jump back into Plaid Umbrella…I have missed it so much ♥️ start looking for me after April 11th…I will be sharing space with my talented friend Karen who sews the most amazing things 😁

While I’ve changed my name here back in Illinois I will always be the Rusty Rooster so look for my tags…I’m bringing lots of vintage goodness with me along with lots of handmade items. I can’t wait to jump back in and show you what I’ve been up to. And who knows you might just catch a glimpse of me refreshing my space from time to time. I hope you are as excited as I am. I hope you find that one of a kind treasure to share in your home. See you soon ♥️🐓

Happy 2026!! I hope your new year is off to a good start. The plan for the new year was to start up my Etsy page again but after all the changes and new charges I decided to just list here to keep costs down for everyone. Most items that I will post will be small enough to ship and I will ship as inexpensive as possible. If you are interested in any item please comment on the item, you can ask a question or mark sold. This is a first come first serve as I do not have the space to hold onto items. I will send a PayPal invoice and it will need to be paid within 24 hrs after receiving it if I am shipping the item. If it is local pick up you are welcome to pay cash, Venmo or I can invoice you as well and we can set up a pick up date and time.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!! So much happened towards the end of the year that I unfortunately was not able to really do as much as I had hoped to do. Trying to find a balance with watching my grandson full time, spending time with friends and my hubby, and working on stuff for my booth back in Illinois and trying to sell right here has been hard. My mom got sick and had surgery and we are still trying to get her better so after more than a month in the hospital and rehab she can come home, it seems adjusting here in Florida I just needed some time. While I was just offered a space in a shop here I think I’ve decided to stay put at home, I will be selling on Etsy by mid month so I’ll keep you posted as my time has now come to an end at Plaid Umbrella. I loved every minute of my own shop and then my time at Plaid. I have worked alongside so many wonderful people since I began in 2010. From vendor to owner to vendor again, what a beautiful ride!! I’m hoping to keep going with some inspiration posts as well as selling on Etsy. I believe that is going to be the best for me and with all that goes on here in a day. Maybe one day I’ll do a space again but watching my grandson grow has been my greatest pleasure and I wouldn’t trade that for anything. So here’s to new beginnings in 2026 and I hope you’ll follow me along on this journey 😊 keep checking for updates soon!! Hoping to list items by early next week. 😊
