Latest refinished project listed for sale, 'Joyful Splendor' sideboard. Painted in a custom mauve color and adorned with furniture transfer featuring heady cabbage roses, birds, fruit and Francophile seal (translation, with joy). I will be overjoyed if this sells quickly as I have many more pieces to work on and try to sell.😊

Fairy Ring nightstand. Revisiting a familiar theme of the nightstand pair that I sold last month. This is a solo nightstand with graceful curves but the same custom color, a nod to Melange's discontinued 'Fairy Ring'. A travesty they would discontinue such a lovely mushroom mauve. Adorned with whimsical flora and fauna of the woodland. Perfect for a little or big girl's bedroom or anyone that loves the magic of the forest. 🌲🍂🍄🦔🌸 This one is still available on FBMP. A coffee table I got from a departing CMU student last spring that I repurposed as a child's play table. Painted a rich green 'Everett' by Fusion Minerals paint, adorned with my favorite whimsical woodland creatures, and sealed with 3 coats of Polyvine Wax Finish Dead Flat finish, an amazing topcoat with a lovely velvety feel. She's got legs... A lovely console that I refinished last month. This piece had the most beautiful book matched veneer on the front drawers. Sadly it was beyond repair. The one upside of painting this pieces is that it makes the gorgeous details of the front legs stand out. And look the treasure I unearthed on removing the top drawer, a 1939 newspaper. I loved looking at the front page, my favorite story, 'Local Women Need For Red Cross Relief Sewing And Knitting'. And more of the bewitching wonders of Bar Keepers Friend on tarnished hardware

Recent refinishing project. Originally a nightstand that was repurposed into a pari of nightstands I was foiled by a severely damage veneer yet again. I redid this pair with a custom paint color that is a mushroom mauve and closely matches a discontinued mineral paint that I adored for the whimsical name 'Fairy Ring'. Adorned with flora and fauna from the woodland. Who wouldn't be charmed by these delightful critters on your bedroom furniture. Last photo shows the positively bewitching wonders of Bar Keepers Friend on hardware.

Refinished Lane cedar chest. Painted in a lovely deep green (Fusion Mineral's 'Everett') I have used this furniture transfer (Iron Orchid's 'Whispering Willow') 3 times now on cedar chests. The fanciful woodland creatures add such a nice touch of whimsy to this chest. I replaced the dated upholstery with oh so soft faux fawn which completes the look. I love restoring these and making them safer. Approx 12 million Lane cedar chests were recalled (those manufactured between 1912-1987) due to the chest locking automatically when the lid was closed, at least 14 children died from suffocation😢 due to becoming trapped while playing. This continues to happen as pass down or resell these chests while being unaware of the dangers of the older locks. I dismantled the latch on this lock and include a soft close hinge to keep little fingers safe as well. Fun fact, if you have a Lane cedar chest you can order a replacement by contacting Heritage Home Group at 800-327-6944, by email at [email protected]

I have been working round the clock these last few weeks getting my house ready to list. It's been a bit like love it or list it without the hosts and with me and a godsend of a handyman doing most of the work. Let me just say it was much easier to do this stuff at 47 than it is at 55. But, me being the crazy person I am, I am looking at fixer uppers for my next house. I seem to love a challenge. So I leave you with a Pickles placeholder for now. There will be more furniture listings in the near next few weeks as I've got to do something to clear out my garage before I move.

Refinished lane cedar chest. These cedar chests were recalled years ago as children tragically died getting locked in the chests (they were unable to opened from the inside). I got this chest for free off of the market place and it had a replacement non locking lock (Lane provided replacements for some time after the recall). I have refinished 3 Lane cedar chests so far. And I have one left that I plan to do in a similar theme with this lovely woodland creatures transfer. I love that these chests can be keepsake heirlooms. But I hate the intrusive thoughts I get thinking about why these were recalled.
