The Colburn boys had a fun morning of fishing and exploration on the river with NH Fishing Guide Mickey Cunliffe ("Fishing with Mickey") and Tilly yesterday.

A few fish were brought to hand, many memories made, and at least one tree was climbed.

We have a few openings for the weekend, and warmer weather is on the way, too. Insect hatches on the river should be kicking in to high gear with the change in temp, and the river has recently been stocked.

The Ilewicz brothers closed out their annual fishing trip to Tall Timber with a corker of a rainbow - nice fish, Jim!

Think "smaller" when fishing the river right now - small tippets, small flies, but maybe you'll catch a big fish ...

As stated previously, the fishing on the Trophy Stretch has been a challenge. The fish are there but not always cooperative, so changing your setup and approach might be the best course of action right now. My advice is to "think smaller", both with your setup and fly selection.
