🎖️⛳️ Congratulations to one of our own Pittsboro Neighbors, Chris Hague, on his induction into the Indiana Golf Foundation 2026 Hall of Fame.⛳️🎖️

Indianagolf.org states: "Chris Hague dedicated his career to excellence in golf course management, serving as a certified superintendent at some of the most respected facilities in the country, including Broadmoor Country Club, TPC at Deere Run, Crooked Stick Golf Club, and Hazeltine National Golf Club. Throughout his career, Hague played a key role in preparing courses for major championships and premier events, including multiple U.S. Opens and PGA TOUR competitions. Beyond course conditions, his impact is felt through decades of mentorship, leadership within turfgrass organizations, and his commitment to developing future professionals in the industry."

The Town of Pittsboro would like to remind residents that road construction will be taking place on the ramps for Jeff Gordon Boulevard, US 74, and State Road 39 in Lizton. In Lizton, the roadway is reduced to one lane until August 1, 2026.

✈️ B-29 Crash in Pittsboro (November 1949)

There was a Boeing B-29 Superfortress crash in Hendricks County/Pittsboro

📅 Date: November 12, 1949
📍 Location: On the farm of Claude and Alice Ridgeway Linton, parents of Marion Linton, Pittsboro
🔥 What happened: The bomber caught fire mid-flight, broke apart, and crashed on farmland
👨‍✈️ Crew onboard: 12
❗ Fatalities: 2 airmen killed, 10 parachuted to safety

Quite a tragic event for small town Pittsboro.

✨ My Pittsboro Neighbors – Throwback Thursday ✨

This one brings back so many childhood memories for me… I can still remember walking in and buying 1¢ Bazooka Bubble Gum, and on the really good days, treating myself to one of those amazing little hamburgers (you know—the ones warmed up in the package! 😄).

This sweet spot was Aunt Mary’s Doll and Dress Shop, located at 208 North Maple St. I honestly don’t remember many dolls or dresses—but I do remember standing behind a little gate, carefully picking out candy like it was the best moment of the week.

Before “Aunt” Mary Whipple owned it, the building was home to Scott & Jackson Paint Store back in the 1960s. Some of you might even remember Russell “Scotty” Scott, pictured out front of his paint shop.

💬 Do any of you remember buying candy, food, dolls, dresses at Aunt Mary’s—or paint from Jackson & Scotty’s Paint Store? I’d love to hear your memories!
