This one is on it's way to Kansas where a grandfather and owner of a heavy hauling trucking company wanted a bed that resembled one of their new trucks. They just finished building their truck a few months ago. It is 33 feet long. This is my version of that truck. I try to stay as close as I can to 1/3 scale when building this style of bed. The bed ended up being just under 11 feet long. This is the first time in almost 25 years that I used actual chrome exhaust pipe. I think that I will try to include them more often when I can. I have attached a few pics of the actual truck for a reference.

Building this bed goes back somewhere around 12-13 years ago. As much as I would like to build another one, I cannot. This is the largest and heaviest bed that I have built. Although the bed is made up from several different panels, the side panels are just too heavy for me to try and move around as I am building it.

TBT.. Building these particular beds go back about 10 years ago. They are not the usual style that I build. However, a wonderful young family asked me to make them.

I have been building these beds for many years. I have shipped them all over the country. This particular Fire Truck bed was built for this little guy just 7 miles from my home. You may notice from the pics, every toy in his bedroom is firefighter or fire truck related. The mural on the wall that looks like a firehouse is an awesome touch as it makes it look like the bed is on its way out of the firehouse.

This one goes back probably 12 years or so. I had a request to build a Batman bed. The parents and I discussed what they were looking for and came up with this bed. The favorite part of this bed for me was being able to find a light that shined the "BAT SIGNAL" on the ceiling.
