I started these Federal side tables back in October and finally finished today. All-in-all they took around 60 hours. It’s also the first thing I’ve made for my own home since highschool. They were made from black walnut; maple and black walnut bandings and maple string inlay in the drawer faces. The half-blind dovetailed drawers were cut by hand as were all the rabbets and dados for the banding and string inlay.

A little preview… one or two more coats and some wax and I’ll finally be done with these tables!

One drawer hand-cut dovetailed, sides and back cut to size today. Very minor fitting needed and couldn’t be happier with how the dovetails turned out. Hope to dovetail the other drawer tomorrow.

A little nerve wracking to disassemble this thing but the benefits of installing the new Shelix should be sweet!

Finally got around to getting lower leg banding fitted and glued one one of the tables. Loosely assembled and front apron banding taped in place just to get prospective. Got a few more joints to cut for the kicker and then some surface prep before glue-up.
