⭐ COMMUNITY GIVEAWAY WEEK 35! ⭐
Knowing firsthand how much life can change after a stroke, Marylee N. and her late husband, John, founded the United Stroke Alliance in 2004. Understanding the physical, emotional, and social adjustments required for both the survivor and the caregiver, they created Retreat and Refresh Camps as a special network of support.
These weekend camps are intentionally designed so both the caregiver and the survivor can participate in discussion groups, music therapy, spa sessions, and more. They've become so beneficial that camps are now held throughout 28 states! 👏👏👏
While their retreats touch lives across the country, the United Stroke Alliance team also provides local support through their monthly Courage Connection group. With this $1,000 Sherman’s Award, this program will continue to be a community resource and reminder that no one is ever alone in this experience.
"A recovery from a stroke is a lifelong journey for both the survivor and the family," Marylee shares. "Bringing people together who are navigating this same path is extremely validating. You feel heard. Our support group helps fight depression and isolation, offers practical tips, and gives encouragement to keep trying."
We want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to the United Stroke Alliance team, as they continue to champion stroke awareness and support in our community and beyond💛
