Our Tweens & Teens had an incredible opportunity to experience history through the reenactment of the historic 1965 James Baldwin vs. William F. Buckley debate, presented by The American Vicarious through the UWF Academy of American Civic Republicanism.

LTA Alonda Jones and PD Tia Watts Robbins led a discussion focused on communication, active listening, civic awareness, and understanding different perspectives.

Experiences like these help our young people think critically, listen intentionally, and use their voices with purpose.

Our Tiny Tots and Buttons & Bows enjoyed a hands-on experience celebrating Black history, entrepreneurship, and innovation last weekend.

They learned about African American innovators like Frederick Jones, Garrett Morgan, and Dr. Charles Drew, then connected those stories to Pensacola’s own history with a visit to Julee Cottage.

These intentional experiences help our children learn, explore, see themselves in history, and begin to imagine what’s possible for their own futures.

We’re planting seeds today that will grow into confident, curious leaders tomorrow. 🩷💙

We kicked off the 2026–2027 program year in true Jack and Jill fashion! 💗💙

Our first chapter meeting was filled with business, sisterhood, service, and a little celebration! Before officially beginning the program year, we celebrated our summer birthdays with a fun Birthday Dance!

Our mothers also proudly wore burgundy in recognition of Sickle Cell Awareness Month, reminding us that our work extends beyond our families and into our community. ❤️

Here’s to a year of intentional programming, meaningful service, lasting memories, and plenty of moments to celebrate our children!

SEPTEMBER IS OVARIAN CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

This September, the Sweet, Sweet Southeastern Region of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. joins the movement to raise awareness about ovarian cancer—because knowing the signs and advocating for our health can save lives.
Ovarian cancer causes more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system in the United States.

For Black women, awareness matters:
An estimated 1,260 Black women died from ovarian cancer in 2025, making it one of the leading causes of cancer death among Black women.

Across cancers, Black people experience lower survival than White people for almost every cancer type, underscoring persistent disparities in cancer outcomes.

Ovarian cancer is often difficult to detect early, so knowing your body and discussing persistent changes with your healthcare provider is important.

Symptoms may include persistent bloating, pelvic or abdominal pain, difficulty eating or feeling full quickly, and changes in urinary habits.

This month, we encourage our mothers, families, and communities to KNOW THE SIGNS. KNOW YOUR RISK. SPEAK UP FOR YOUR HEALTH.

The Sweet, Sweet Southeastern Region is ON THE CLOCK!

Today, on National Voter Registration Day, we encourage all eligible Teens, Mothers, Fathers, Associates, and members of our communities to make sure they are registered, ready, and prepared to VOTE!

The 2026 General Election is Tuesday, November 3, and registration deadlines are quickly approaching.

KNOW YOUR DEADLINE:
Georgia • Florida • Tennessee • Mississippi: October 5, 2026

Alabama: October 19, 2026

Don't wait until Election Day to discover that your registration isn't current. Register. Check your status. Update your address. Know your polling location. Make a plan to vote.
