A U.S. Air Force colonel is being called a real-life action hero after surviving one of the most intense behind-enemy-lines ordeals in recent military history.

After his F-15 fighter jet was sh*t down over Iran, the wounded airman didn’t just survive — he climbed nearly 7,000 feet into the rugged Zagros Mountains, hiding in a narrow crevice while enemy forces hunted him down for over 36 hours. 

Despite serious injuries, he reportedly relied on elite survival training and sheer willpower, moving through dangerous terrain with nothing but a handg*n while Iranian forces — and even local fighters motivated by a reported bounty — searched the area. 

At one point, thousands were believed to be looking for him as drones, patrols, and ground teams swept the mountains. Still, he avoided capture, eventually activating an emergency beacon from his hiding spot that helped U.S. forces pinpoint his location. 

What followed was a massive, high-risk rescue mission deep inside hostile territory. U.S. Special Operations forces, backed by drones, fighter jets, and CIA deception tactics, launched a coordinated extraction under fire. 

The operation involved dozens of aircraft and over 100 elite troops, with reports of helicopters taking fire and equipment being destroyed to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. 

Against all odds, the airman was successfully rescued and flown to safety, marking what officials are calling one of the most daring rescue missions in modern U.S. military history.
