From our family to yours — this is what we're building out at Cross Bell Ranch, and why. The Double Nickel Mission is our promise to bring 50,000 kids and young people through the gate, most of them touching a horse, catching a fish, or walking a pasture for the very first time. Take a look — and if it stirs something in you, pass it on.

— The Teagues, Rustic Furniture Saving Place

People ask me sometimes what a ranch is *for*.

It's for cattle — horses and hay and fixing fence in weather you'd rather not. If that's all it's for, we've missed the point.

So we're putting a number on the dream, because a dream without a number is just a wish: 50,000 children and young adults through the Cross Bell gate.

That's the Double Nickel Mission — kids learning where food comes from and how a horse thinks.

It starts this spring with a youth fishing tournament and a mentored, safety-first youth hunt day. Families welcome.

The Cross Bell Covenant, the nonprofit we're forming, will carry this work long after we're gone.

There are things we don't want to lose — how to work, how to gather, how to be grateful out loud. The only way to keep them is to hand them to somebody younger.

Watch for the spring dates — then bring your kids and be part of the count.

Remember. Gather. Pass it on.
