Next up is the buffet that April & Kevin brought. It originally belonged to her Grandparents . The usual cleaning,scraping & small repairs were done. The inside needed to be sanded and restained.After getting the finish off we could see the beautiful wood that was hidden under the old toner stain. They decided to let its natural beauty shine and I only added several layers of topcoat. So stunning!
The last picture is of the chairs and buffet in their home.

As I mentioned April & her husband Kevin brought these chairs to be refinished. They were her Grandparents and they wanted them to be used with their existing table and chairs in their home. What a surprise to me when I saw they were Heywood Wakefield brand!!! A very sought after Midcentury modern furniture brand. These are from their “colonial style “ from the late 50’s-60’s.
After stripping,scrapping,sanding,some glueing &cleaning they were ready to coordinate coloring with their existing chairs and the buffet I was refinishing for them. Since these chairs are hard maple they don’t accept stain well without blotching. I used 2 coats of gel stain in the color “Cherry” & 1 coat of “Walnut”. Topcoated with polyurethane with the satin sheen. Before pictures first. Thank you April & Kevin !!

I’ve been working on these dining chairs which are original vintage Heywood Wakefields and this vintage buffet. April and Kevin brought them to be refinished. They belonged to her Grandparents. These are the “Before” photos. More details to come….

I have only eaten mulberries off of our trees here at our acreage. I recently bought Mulberry Jam and eggs from Nordic Grove Farm Stand and oh my goodness…..it was Delicious !!!! 😋 Had both items for lunch.
I will need to get the other Mulberry items now !

🐝 These vintage chairs were brought to me along with the table I recently finished and posted. They were Denise’s Grandparent’s only 3 survived to be refinished. I used Golden Oak & Red Oak to match the table. The same process I needed to do to the extension leafs of the table. Denise will be reupholstering them.

After the loss of Our Beloved Dog ❤️Remy(our baby)❤️😔 and our annual Family Vacation to Table Rock Lake😃. I’m finishing up dining chairs and starting on more chairs.
