Most are vintage from local estates and some are new from the original manufacturers and craftspeople

. In an effort to become a more full-service establishment, Boomerang for Modern also provides interior design/consultation services to our discerning customers. We are available on an hourly rate basis to assess and develop your interior space into a more cohesive, livable and appealing environment. Using your current furnishings, art and objects is our specialty! Of course, if new furnishings or accessories are called for, Boomerang for Modern will be able to assist you in making the right choices for your space and will provide special pricing for items chosen from the store. We can also recommend colors and finishes for walls, ceilings, windows and floors. Whether you are a collector or seeking to mix unique items with your own personal style, we have something for you. Many years ago, my dear friend, Malcolm Leland gifted me some of his personal items including a cast plaster plaque that he had made as a study to present to the San Diego Museum of Art for the bronzed gates he would make for their sculpture garden. That plaque has been hanging on my living room wall ever since. However, I also received the mold that he had cast the plaque in. I recently discovered it while going through some boxes in my storage and decided to try my hand at casting. I will be making a small run of these cast and mounted myself. Each plaque measures. 14 1/2 x 8 1/2. Please contact me for pricing and any more information you might need.

During my 10 day vacation, earlier this week I had the chance to visit dear friends in San Diego. Both of them had previously purchased George Nelson CSS units from me in the past and both had very different approaches to their use! You could go minimal or load them up… They always look amazing! And just a footnote… I have one in the shop that is available and is a lovely example.

I spent a lovely day with some dear friends who have a cozy early 20th century cabin up in Lake arrowhead. It’s beyond charming but very unlike their Palm springs mid-century home! We stopped by the amazing and intact 1934 Bennati cabin by Rudolph Schindler. (Pictured) A very, very early use of the A-Frame style.

So tickled to receive these from my dear long-distance friend, whose family worked for Herman Miller back Zeeland Michigan once upon a time. Both of these Alexander Girard enrichment panels have never seen the light of day and we’re always folded up and put away. The colors are as bright and vibrant as the day they were printed both are very large scale. They just put a big smile on my face!

41 years ago today… Hard to wrap my mind around it! Here are some very random photographs taken throughout those years from my first and second shops in San Diego on Park Boulevard to my third and fourth shops in Little Italy, and then on to Palm Springs. What an amazing journey with amazing people and not to mention the great stuff that’s filtered through the shop over the years. My heartfelt thanks.
