Sixteen feet of solid red oak for 28 guys to share meals around.

The Ark of Decatur County is a faith-based addiction recovery home for men in Indiana. Their director reached out to us with a dream of a table that they could all gather around for meals, fellowship, and brotherhood. We said, “Let’s make it happen!”

Three months later, here it is. In their own words, “This is the nicest thing we’ve ever had in the house.” Everyone was so kind, considerate, and appreciative.

This book-matched red cedar table is special, because the table sits less than 30’ away from where the tree grew.

The Hamiltons had this beautiful aromatic red cedar tree in the center of their backyard, but a year ago, a windstorm blew it over. Ed reached out to us to give it a second life, and 12 months later, the tree is once again a part of their family, this time in the center of the home as their every-day kitchen table.

Their grown-up daughter was visiting when we delivered the table and commented that she’s known this tree for her entire life. It was older than her!
