I’m finally getting back in the garage. 🛠️

A few years ago I found this little solid walnut drop-leaf table at a thrift store for $35. It was handmade. Heavy. Solid. The kind of piece you don’t see much anymore.

It didn’t look like much at first — but I could tell it had good bones.

I put about 6 hours into it and maybe $30 in supplies. Nothing dramatic. Just sanding, patience, and bringing the wood back to life.

And this is exactly why I love vintage & antique

There’s a story in it.
Someone built this by hand.
Someone gathered around it.
Someone took the time to make it last.

You just don’t get that from big box furniture.

Most new pieces are designed to be replaced. Vintage pieces were designed to stay. To move from house to house. To age with you.

This one isn’t for sale. It’s staying here.

Because sometimes restoring something old feels a lot like slowing down and choosing what’s worth keeping.
