I’m becoming aware of what a healing place this is for me. On an especially difficult day last week, I went for a walk in the woods across the street. The light filtering through the trees and the rustling colored leaves created a little cathedral for my prayers. Then yesterday, Sara and family and I took a trip down memory lane to my little hometown. We stopped to visit my parents’ and grandparent’s gravesites in the town cemetery. So many memories flooded my mind-sad and happy. Standing watch is an enormous and ancient tulip tree that existed before and during the lives of the many saints buried under its wide branches. A lovely reminder that thankfully only God controls time and events.

As you know, the last three months have been very difficult with seasons of great hope followed by those of sorrow and grief. Through it all, God has faithfully stood by and held my hand and led dear family and friends to pull me through the knothole of grief. Thank you.
For two years Bill and planned to move to Holland,Michigan, and I am going to carry through on that plan, even though I be will have to do it alone. If all goes well, I should be on my way to The Farmstead apartment by Oct. 3. I’ll be keeping you informed along the way, hoping to keep friendships alive and well! Much love, Jan
