Here’s another Meadowlark coat/jacket made from a “Grandmother’s Flower Garden” quilt. The quilt pattern is classic but the artist chose yo add an unexpected pop of orange for the edges of the quilt. We used those edges for the front opening, the bottom hem, and the sleeve hems. We also used a coordinating fabric for the collar lining.

This coat is size large. I’m a shrinking 5’8” and on me it hits at the knee. The pattern runs big and the style is oversized so it probably will fit medium to x-large.

The quilt was lovingly used and there is a bit of wear but there no holes or stains.

We do ship and we also will make a custom coat or jacket for you. To get started send us a message via Facebook and we’ll take care if you completely stress-free!

The Facebook and Instagram algorithms have inundated my feeds with people who are recycling men’s button-up shirts. Mostly Polo or Ralph Lauren.

Giving in to the inevitable, I created this very cute women’s shirt out of a yellow and white checked, 100% cotton Ralph shirt that has been in my closet forever. It’s a men’s size medium.

People are selling these shirts online, like on Etsy, for $100 and more. That’s just crazy. I haven’t come up with a price yet but let me know what you would pay.

If you have a shirt that you would like recycled, let me know and I’ll get it done.

I have so many scraps of fabrics laying around, left over from making binding for the quilt coats. Thinking about using them on these shirts. What do you think?

Blue and white shabby quilt jacket with coordinating trim in size M-L. The quilt was very well worn and there were no places that didn’t have wear and tear. But it was too pretty to throw away. I mended the biggest holes and made this cutie.

The good news is that I have machine washed and dried this jacket twice with no further deterioration. There’s still a lot of life left in the ol’ girl. There are no chunks of batting escaping.

Come in and see if this is your style. It looks great with jeans and a teeshirt and it’s perfect for cool summer mornings or evenings.

Just finished one of my favorite jackets! This one was made from a tattered well-loved vintage — maybe antique — quilt, and I used every bit of it to avoid some of the holes and shredded fabric. The colors are so springlike! It’s lightweight and perfect for cool days ahead.

The pattern says it’s a medium but a customer tried it on before it was even finished and it definitely is at least a large and maybe even an extra-large.

Come in and try it on, along with the other coats and jackets we have in the store. Also our vests are on sale for $25. 635 Market, Osage City, KS, closed Tuesday and Wednesday, open other weekdays 10-4 and Sunday 12-4.

We will make you a jacket or coat using your own quilt or you can choose one of many we have on hand. Message us and we take it from there. We do ship and share the expense with you.

This shawl collared jacket is headed to Texas on Monday. Beth bought the vintage bow tie quilt on eBay and had it shipped to us. She picked out the style from pictures on our page, and sent her size/measurements and we made the jacket. The mannequin isn’t big enough to really show off how great this jacket is. It really looks so much better on an actual person.

If you are interested in having us make you a jacket or coat from one of our quilts, or if you have a quilt you want to use, or, like Beth, you find one on line, send us a message and we’ll take it from there.

If you want to visit in person we are located at 635 Market,Osage City, KS and we are open Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-4 and Sunday 12-4. We have a lot of vintage spring and Easter decor! Especially if you’re into bunnies.

Just finished this pretty blue and white Snail’s Trail quilt jacket for another special mother. This quilt was very worn and frayed in spots but the body of it was still intact enough to create this one-of-a-kind jacket.

We can make one for you or someone special, too. Bring in your own quilt or pick one of ours, and we will make an heirloom. See us at 635 Market in Osage City, KS. We are closed in February on Tuesday and Wednesday, but open the rest of the week from 10-4 and Sunday 12-4.
