The average is 100 microorganisms per square centimeter in the interior area of the vehicle. 🦠

👉🏻With air humidity and high temperatures, the car, being closed, increases the proliferation of fungus, bacteria, and mold, bringing risks especially to the babies' health.

You and your family may not be the only things that are sitting on your couch!

1. Viruses & Bacteria
We spend an average of 90% of our time indoors, in the winter months we can spend even more of our time indoors. A large portion of that indoor is spent at home on our couch. Giving the bacteria and viruses we encounter during the day to transfer to the upholstery. With kids and pets around this risk only gets worse.

2. Dust mites & Allergens
Your upholstery surfaces are a five star hotel to the dust mites that live in your home. They burrow in, shed their skin, and leave their f***s all over your lounge spaces. When these allergens are inhaled it can cause allergies, asthma, and blocked airways. Unfortunately these pesky mites cannot be conquered by vacuuming only.

To help keep them at bay have your upholstery cleaned every six months or ever 3-4 months if pets or children in the home. Luckily Southeastern Connecticut has the tools and products to provide an even deeper clean! We can remove up to 98% of allergens from the upholstery and 89% of airborne bacteria! 3. Mold
Living in a humid, warm climate has holds many extra challenges when it comes to maintaining the health of your home. Mold is one of those challenges! Mold can grow in the soft fibers of your furniture creating an upholstery mold sponge. Mold can be extremely dangerous and can cause many harmful health effects including asthma and other respiratory issues.

There are two times a year that it is important to get your upholstery cleaned. At the end of winter since we spend more time inside which can increases build-up of allergens and bacteria, and at the end of the muggy summers that increase the chance of mold growth.

How to get stains out of a fabric couch: A step-by-step guide🥰

The most important part of keeping your couch beautiful and comfy is treating stubborn stains as soon as they occur, if possible, and using the right tools and treatments.

Step 1: Check the code

As bad as couch stains are, improperly cleaning them may lead to damage that’ll look much worse. Check your couch’s cleaning code and care instructions before using any type of cleaner.

Step 2: Vacuum

Vacuum thoroughly with an upholstery brush to remove dust, dirt, hair, and other debris.

Step 3: Apply remover to the stain

If your couch can handle water- and solvent-based cleaners ("S/W"), make a paste with equal parts baking soda and cool water, and apply it to the stain with a soft clean cloth. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then vacuum and pat dry. Or use a pre-made stain remover like Grove's Carpet & Upholstery Stain Remover.
If your couch’s cleaning code is “S”, use a specialized waterless solvent cleaner.
Let the spot dry completely before using the couch.
