There's a lot that goes into building a custom fire table.

Stone selection, burner sizing, BTU output, flame pattern, thermal expansion, clearances. Then the aesthetic side: picking the right slab, the right veining, the right finish for the space.

We're a brother-sister team and we obsess over every part of it.

If you're working on an outdoor space and want a fire feature done right, come see us in Anaheim or send us a DM. You can also reach us at 888-303-2453 or cookefurniture.com.

Everyone sees the finished fire table sitting in a beautifully styled backyard and thinks that's the whole story.

It's not even close.

The real story starts months before that. It starts with CAD drawings you can actually look at, edit, and sign off on before we cut a single piece of metal. It's in hand-selecting marine-grade stainless that won't rust whether you're on the coast or up in the mountains. It's the metal bending, stone fabrication, and welding happening right here in our Anaheim workshop. It's a custom burner we engineer specifically to produce natural-looking flames, not some rinky-dink circular pattern that looks like a gas stove.

And the tank? It's tucked horizontally underneath the table. No hose running off to the side. No visible hardware. Nothing to break the design.

Every single step is intentional because the result has to be permanent. This isn't something you swap out in five years. It's the anchor of your outdoor space. The place people actually want to gather. Where you take that first deep breath by the fire and everything kind of slows down.

We build everything in California, start to finish. I'm an engineer, so I'm kind of wired to obsess over the details nobody else sees. But those are the details that make the difference between something that lasts decades and something that doesn't. Fire is the only element that creates warmth, light, movement, and human connection all at once. It deserves to be built right.

The process takes longer. The result lasts decades.

Watch us build one of my favorite things we make.

The Famosa BBQ Island is a 10-foot outdoor kitchen, welded 304 stainless steel subframe, clad in natural stone (granite or quartzite depending on what you're going for), seamless countertop, and fully integrated appliances including an Alfresco undercounter refrigerator. Everything is built for outdoor use, coastal air, year-round exposure. Nothing is an afterthought.

The propane tank is completely hidden. No hoses, no tank sitting out to the side. It just looks clean because that's how it should look.

We build these in our Anaheim workshop, custom sizing available if 120 inches isn't exactly what your space needs.

If you're thinking about an outdoor kitchen, this is worth a look.

Custom-made with your chosen stone. Granite, quartzite, marble... which would you put in your backyard?

We build custom fire tables, and honestly, we're a little obsessed with marble. Like, the way some people are with designer bags. Except ours weigh 800 pounds and you're not babying them around town.

Every slab gets hand-picked. We're looking at the grain, how it'll hold up in coastal salt air, how it's going to age over the years. We only use natural stone (never porcelain) because if you're building something meant to sit in your backyard for the next few decades, the material has to be as solid as the engineering holding it together.

Marine-grade stainless, Schedule 40 pipe, stone that actually gets better looking with time. We're not just thinking about how it looks on day one. We're thinking about year twenty.

If you're putting together an outdoor space and want a fire feature built to actually last, let's talk!

We talk a lot about fire. But let's talk about what happens when it's off.

A fire table is still a piece of furniture. It lives on your patio year-round, and most of those hours, the flame is sitting quietly underneath a beautiful surface. So the material, the shape, the finish, all of it matters just as much as the flame itself.

That's what "think outside the cement box" means to us.

Natural stone in a dozen finishes. Corten steel develops its own character over time. Sleek powder-coated steel in any color you can dream up. Organic shapes, architectural silhouettes, and long dining tables with a flame running through the center. If you can sketch it, we will build it.

We work with designers and homeowners all the time who come in with a reference photo, a mood board, or just a feeling, and we figure it out together. That's the part we genuinely love.

If you're in the early stages of designing a space and fire is part of the vision, we'd love to be part of that conversation 🔥

So everything we build is made right here in California, and there's actually a real reason for that.

It's not just the "buy American" thing (though yeah, we're proud of that). It's about control. When you're building fire tables meant to last decades, you can't just ship the work overseas and hope for the best. Every piece of steel, every weld, every stone cut happens in our Anaheim shop, where I can literally walk over and look at it.

I hand-built every table myself for years before we grew the team. Erik, our welder of 8 years, knows these pieces almost as well as I do at this point. And when you call us with a question about your install, you're talking to the people who actually built the thing. Not a customer service rep reading off a script.

The reason that matters is because we're not just cutting metal here, we're being pretty picky about it. Marine-grade stainless that won't rust if you're on the coast. Natural stone we hand-select. Burners we design and build ourselves so the flame actually looks like a flame and not a ring of fire from a gas stove.

That kind of detail just doesn't happen when it's made in a factory halfway around the world. It can't.

California-made isn't a tagline for us. It's the only way I know how to make sure you get something that's still sitting in your backyard 20 years from now.

If you're planning an outdoor space and want a fire feature built to actually last, we'd love to be part of it. Shoot us a DM, give us a call at 888-303-2453, or check out the build process at cookefiretables.com.

There's something quietly thrilling about walking through a slab yard. Rows of stone that have been formed over millennia, each piece completely unique.

When we work with clients on custom fire tables, we don't just send specs to a supplier. We visit the yards ourselves. We guide clients through the selection process, helping them understand the subtle differences between stones, how certain marbles will patina over time, which granites can handle coastal salt air without flinching, and what veining patterns will anchor a space versus overwhelm it.

It's one of the most collaborative parts of the process. Our clients get to run their hands across the actual stone that will become the centerpiece of their outdoor space. They see the full slab, pick the exact section they want, and understand why we're so particular about natural stone over porcelain or composite materials.

This level of involvement isn't typical in the furniture world, but fire tables aren't furniture. They're permanent installations, sculptural anchors that deserve the same thoughtful material selection as the architecture itself.

If you're considering a custom piece and want to be part of the selection process, we'd love to walk you through it. Visit our website (in bio) or give us a call at 888-303-2453 to chat with us directly.

Choosing the right stone for your fire table should feel as intentional as the space you're creating.

We ship marble and other material swatches directly to your door so you can see the grain, feel the weight, and place it in your actual light before making a decision. Natural stone isn't something you pick from a screen; it's something you live with for decades.

Each piece we fabricate uses premium natural stone selected for durability and timeless beauty. Whether you're designing a coastal retreat or a mountain gathering spot, the material matters as much as the craftsmanship behind it.

Want to see samples before your custom build? DM us "SWATCH" and we'll send swatches your way!

I've been obsessed with fire since I was a kid. Building campfires in the backyard, in my sandbox, pretty much anywhere my parents would let me (and a few places they wouldn't). So when I got into mechanical engineering and eventually started building fire tables, it wasn't really a business decision. It was just the most natural thing in the world.

The Famosa is the table I kept coming back to. Clean lines, serious engineering underneath, and a flame that stops people mid-conversation. We've built it four ways now, and honestly each one exists because a different client asked for something slightly different and we figured out how to do it right.

Here's how they break down:

The Famosa Fire Table (Stone) is the original. Granite, Dekton, Neolith, your call. The stone gives it this permanence that you just can't fake. Underneath is an 18-gauge double-wall vented fire pan with a 25-year guarantee and a hidden gliding propane drawer. Nothing hanging off the side, no hoses in view. Just clean.

The Famosa Steel is the same table with a powder-coated steel exterior instead of stone. Same burner, same hidden infrastructure, same brass fittings. If your space is leaning more industrial or contemporary, this one fits without trying too hard.

The Famosa Nuevo (Stone) came out of conversations with designers who wanted something lower to the ground, more architectural. The toe-kick base detail sounds like a small thing until you see it in a space and realize the table looks like it was always supposed to be there. Same fire pan, same hidden tank, Tier 1 stone. Just a different proportion that rewards a longer look.

And the Famosa Nuevo Steel is exactly what it sounds like. The Nuevo silhouette in powder-coated steel. Most modern-industrial piece we make. Same burner range, same Anaheim craftsmanship, just a cleaner contemporary surface.

Every version runs the same 60,000-500,000 BTU adjustable burner. Every version is built to your dimensions in our shop in Anaheim. If you've got a space and a vision, reach out. We love talking through this stuff.

When we deliver a fire table, we're not just dropping it off at the door.

We show up, unbox everything, and do the full assembly on-site. Then we run safety testing and leak checks, walk you through every feature, and if you want, we'll fill your propane tank so you can actually light it that night 🔥

That's just how it should work when you're buying something you're going to have for the next 20 years.

We deliver within our California and Nevada service region (San Diego to Napa, Reno to Las Vegas). Happy to chat through your project and what delivery looks like for you. Fell free to visit our website (in bio) or call us at 888-303-2453 and chat with us directly.
