The fire department knew our backyard pretty well growing up.
I was always outside, lighting fires, building campfires, figuring out how to keep them going just right. There was always something about it. The warmth, the light, the way people naturally gather around it.
As I got older, that curiosity turned into mechanical engineering and a career in manufacturing. The first fire table I built was for my parents. From there, it grew into something bigger.
Now Cooke is a family business I run with my sister Kate. She leads the design and client experience, I handle the engineering and fabrication, and together we’ve built something we’re really proud of.
Everything is made in house here in California.
That part matters to us. Not just for quality, but because it allows us to build things the right way and create jobs doing it.
At its core, it’s always been about more than just the product.
Fire has a way of bringing people together. It slows things down. It creates space for connection, for conversation, for moments you actually remember.
That’s why we build these the way we do.
So those moments last. So people linger a little longer. So it becomes something you come back to again and again, not something you’re replacing a few years down the line.
It’s meant to be a permanent part of your space.
And for us, it’s always been tied to some of our best memories. That’s what we want to pass on, creating pieces that help other families and spaces hold onto those same kinds of moments.
If you’re designing a space and want to incorporate a fire feature, we’d love to help.
