Basal was founded by John Bishop, a designer with over 30 years of experience creating and installing outdoor furnishings and lighting, architectural graphics, and signage for high-end commercial projects all throughout America. Working on these

projects, John and his in-house team of designers and craftspeople developed a fabrication process that emphasized beauty and durability in equal measures.
