The industry I’ve been privileged to be a part of dates back millennia: ecclesiastical interiors and decoration — more commonly known as “church goods.”
I am fortunate to have in my possession a 1929 catalog from the DaPrato Statuary Studio. This remarkable family firm maintained workshops in many of the great Catholic centers of America, including Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago.
DaPrato imported highly skilled craftsmen directly from Italy and housed them in company accommodations, ensuring that the traditions of Old World sacred artistry were preserved in every piece they produced.
Take special notice of the cost of some of these exquisite works of sacred art — shipping was included as well.
