Cury Design Studio Cury Design Studio a full service Interior Design firm located in downtown Ocean City, NJ featuring a furnishing and accessory storefront at 743 Asbury Ave.

Cury Design Studio (formerly Interiors By Joann) was established in 1976 by Joann Thompson to provide complete Interior Design Services for Residential and Commercial properties. Since opening in 1976, the business has gone from a one-room office in the south end of Ocean City to a beautiful design studio in the heart of Ocean City’s downtown with eight employees, including three designers, an office manager, three showroom coordinators and a construction manager. The new Cury Design Studio showroom truly shows off the capabilities of the team while showcasing beautiful upholstery pieces from all of our manufacturers and an array of artwork, lamps, and accessories. You will find that all employees of Cury Design Studio are capable, helpful, and knowledgeable on the showroom floor as well as in the design office. Clients of Cury Design Studio are familiar with the positive experience of working with one of our designers, as well as getting a taste of the teamwork that goes on in our design office. When shopping on the showroom floor or working with our interior designers you will have the luxury of working with brands such as C.R. Laine, Vanguard, Lexington, Universal, Braxton Culler, Uttermost, Ro Sham Beaux, Regina Andrews, Hunter Douglas and many, many more.

Fall ‘26 High Point Market, you were a good one!
So grateful to Sam for bringing our entire team together for an opportunity to learn, grow, get inspired, and spend time exploring what’s new in the design world. From Sam sharing her expertise on panels at Sarreid Limited and Natuzzi Italia to voting for and presenting awards at the Intl.SocietyFurnitureDesigners Pinnacle Awards, it was an exciting week all around!

We also spent plenty of time visiting our trusted vendors and reps, discovering new lines, and picking up some fun, different finds that we can’t wait to bring into the mix at Cury Design Studio. 👏🏼
We’re coming home with fresh ideas, new partnerships, and SO many things we can’t wait to share with you. Stay tuned!

High Point Market is about more than finding beautiful new pieces for our projects!
We have a full few days ahead, from seeing our favorite vendors and reps (and checking out what’s new with the lines we know and love) to exploring new brands we may bring into the mix.
We’re also excited to have Sam participating in industry panels and serving as a judge for the Pinnacle Awards this market!
Between learning, connecting, and discovering what’s next in design, there’s a lot to look forward to. Here are a few exciting places you can find our team while we’re at market!

Every detail in this bedroom was chosen with the setting in mind. From the light wood ceiling and soft blue grasscloth walls to the natural textures, subtle patterns, and oversized windows that frame the bay views. Nothing feels overly beachy, but every element works together to make the room feel relaxed, bright, and connected to its surroundings.

A kitchen should do more than function well, it should be the place where everyone naturally ends up. Designed for everyday life, gathering around the island, late-night conversations, holiday mornings, and all the little moments in between. Thoughtful materials, timeless details, and a layout made to work hard, so it can be enjoyed, lived in, and passed down for generations. 🤍

Never underestimate the power of a good pillow! The right mix of color, pattern, texture and a little personality can completely change a room. From the sofa to the bed (and every chair in between), pillows are one of our favorite ways to pull a space together and make it feel finished.
