Morning everyone,

For the longest time I thought that this page and project were dead due to the fact that we were unable to raise the funds needed to get the tools to start this project, and it looks like it will be longer than I ever thought it would be.

Lower down the page you will see an Empire Settee that was given to me by Wallace when he closed up the store so I can sell it to raise the funds. All this time I have been trying to research this piece as it has been an anomaly due to several factors we have found out with in it's construction. Those anomalies were cleared up the other day when my search ended in a not so financially jubilant way. Turns out the piece is not as old as either Wallace or myself had thought and no where as near as valuable as either of us had hoped. (see link below.)

So for now we will plug along and save as we can to do the projects that do not need the expensive tools that require the larger pieces including this one, of which will stay in our collection.

Good evening everyone,

Today I sealed the deal on the commission for the restoration of the MCM chair. Now I wait for the instructions from my supply company on how to restore the webbing so we can get started.

Good evening everyone,

Tonight we picked up a small restoration commission from a local patron. The project as she well knows brings in badly needed funds for a financial crisis we are facing. This will help immensely.

From 7/18 to 11/24 it has taken me this long to finally get a correct time frame for the parlor set and my cherished Settee.

Let's start with the parlor set, first it is not English but actually American circa 1870 Baroque Rococo and is staying in my collection.
Second, the "French" Settee. Wallace you will always be a cherished and beloved friend for whom I will always miss but, you were so off on this one it wasn't even funny. The settee is actually a Victorian Repro of a Federal Lion Paw carved settee that was all the fashion in the Victorian era to have Repro's done of Federal pieces of the highest quality. This is also in our private collection.

these photographs are better detailed takes on the 1840's French Settee to share with a few potential buyers.

Hello everyone, some of the antiques that we hope to be selling to use as seed money have finally arrived!!! Please take a look at the photo's below for some detailed pics!

The first piece is an 1840's French Empire 4 Lion Paw Settee, possibly made with Brazilian Mahogany. The two things that make this settee different from those made in America are the paw feet and the back. The paw feet made in America were all straight, these are splayed out, and the backs on the American pieces that I have seen are all straight across with rolled wood scroll work. We are awaiting an evaluation on this piece before we show it for possible sale.

The second set is an 1850's English Parlor set of 3 pieces that we are still trying to do some research on as we think it has a link to the Royal Family in some way. Not that it was owned by them, but that it was a commemorative set. An appraisal can not be correctly done on this set either till we know the full history.

More seed money antiques coming tomorrow.
