OEM parts or aftermarket parts? This depends on what parts you need. I recommend going with OEM supplied parts for anything electrical or engine control related, for example, ignition coils, sensors, carburetors and fuel injectors. I had a 2013 Yamaha F115 come into the shop for idle and run ability issues. The customer requested an injector service. This customer also stated that they have replaced fuel injectors 3 times since new, which I found surprising as I have only ever had to replace half a dozen throughout the years that I couldn't get to clean out or were just faulty in general. I noticed right away when I pulled the injectors off the engine that they were not the Bosch injectors that Yamaha runs but aftermarket injectors likely from Amazon ($40 for the set). I tested the fuel injectors and found that the housing was not sealed on the injector bodies causing a moderate intake vacuum leak on all cylinders. I called the customer and discussed what I had found and recommended we order the correct injectors from Yamaha, these injectors are not cheap and cost the customer $150 each. After receiving the new fuel injectors I installed them on the motor and had to resynchronize the throttle bodies and TPS sensors as the customer had tried to adjust these to counter the issues caused by the aftermarket injectors. Once I completed resynchronizing the induction system, sensors and installed the new OEM injectors the engine idled and ran great. The lession is, now more then ever there are lots of options for cheaply made parts but beware, because these cheap parts can end up costing you way more in the long run...
