On another note:
I heard some of our residence received rent increases along with a letter informing tenants that "new tenants" will be required to pay $990.00 for rent. I did contact the Attorney General office and learned this is legal and he can charge whatever he wants to NEW TENANTS ONLY". How are we going to be able to sell our homes (if you chose too). Who in their right mind would pay $990.00 for land rent when the water is of poor quality and the property is NEVER TAKEN CARE OF. FYI this is the highest land rent in Island County for a mobile home park.

Get ready tenants: we are going to see rent increases every year from now on @ 5% per year.

I wrote the Island County Heath department looking for any updates since we do not hear from the Magnats about what is going on with our water/sewer issues. Here is the response I received:

Apologies for the lapse in communication. Heather has resigned from Island County. I will be your best point of contact until we hire a new Environmental Health Manager.

Regarding water concerns, since Island County does not manage your water system, I think your best (and most streamlined) point of contact would be to reach out to your water management agency (NW Natural Water Services) and/or connect with state-level representatives who regulate the system from a water quality standpoint. They can provide you with the most current information and provide support directly versus going through me/Island County first.

Island County has been working closely with the septic service provider who has been completing a comprehensive assessment of all of the septic systems in Valley High. The current status is that almost all of the systems have been evaluated and there are two outstanding repairs being installed as we speak. Our septic/sewage supervisor has a scheduled site visit with the service provider this Friday, April 3rd. They will be on site to evaluate work that has been completed to date and determine next steps for compliance, if necessary.

The City of Oak Harbor has reached out to request a meeting with Island County to discuss the current status of septic evaluation and repairs. I have sent them the same information as I shared above. The land owners have approached the city about connecting to city water which is why Oak Harbor requested a meeting to discuss the status of septic improvements being completed. That is all I know about recent communication between the land owners and the City of Oak Harbor.

Overall, there has been ongoing progress made from the septic repair standpoint, and for that we are grateful. I hope you are able to connect with the state-level representatives and receive timely updates/response on the water quality side of this situation.

How many tenants received a rent increase letter in the mail today? I did not but one tenant did. Her rent is being increased by $30 but he’s also increasing the rent for new tenants who purchased homes here after June of this year to $990 a month.

Quick update for you:

At this time we have received inspection reports for almost all systems and ongoing repairs are occurring for the septic systems that need it. We have issued a health officers order to ensure two septic repair permits that have been issued get installed right away to stop any surface pollution.

The park owners have reached out to a designer to investigate future options for large septic systems to replace the small ones in the park.

Currently the water system is in compliance with DOH. The park owners are currently working with the City of Oak Harbor to potentially secure water service.

The park is moving in the right direction towards compliance with health codes through all of these actions.

Actualización rápida:

Hi Theresa,
I am very sorry your park managers are not communicating all of this. I have requested to be kept in the loop (King Water) as I am trying to send you anything I can, as quickly as possible.
As of a couple hours ago, DOH required a Boil Water Order for the park, which requires door-to-door notification. You should receive notification on your door today regarding this as well as instructions to flush all plumbing in the home by running water until it is clear.
I will send another message to the park management letting them know they have a requirement to notify tenants of all contractor activity in the park.
