Sometimes people ask me why my bags cost what they do. And compared to typical canvas bags from Vietnam or China, I can relate to their confusion. But it’s all in the details. This small bag from my Industrial Ops Collection was made from a WWII canvas tent that I washed and washed. The stitching I designed to compliment the original tent stitching. The steel buttons are original as is the front flap stitching. To carry a stitch through the canvas was not easy as it required pulling with pliers. But in the end, even having to complete the stitching on the strap, it looks like it could have been done in the field. I love making these bags as tough as they are because the spirit of the cloth and its history, always speaks to me! Power to the United States of America! 🇺🇸

Carlos Castro was great at coming up with cartoons for our newspaper ads. Back then it was all about grabbing one’s attention off the tabloid pages. He was also a pro when it came to working with the shops in Santiago to bring in lots of pieces to paint! 🪑Our excellent paint master, Rafael Flores, got it done. Over 4000 pieces in the years between 1986 and 1998! It was a colorful time and hard to imagine during these days of neutral everything! Hey, let’s take it up a notch, don’t ya say?
