Here it is! The big slab was approximately 75" square and then, wa la, it was a 72" round table top. The whole process actually took about 2 1/2 hours, twisted our way around the slab 14 times. During the process I had a tooling failure which required repeating a couple steps. Now a few hours of sanding.
How big is a 72" round top? Well, let's go back to 1st year algerbra. Remember pi? It's how to calculate the circumference of a circle. Pi = 3.12........ x the diameter of the top, 72". 72 x 3.12 = 224.64". I usually calculate 24" per place setting of a table, so, 224.64 รท 24 = 9.36. This table will comfortably seat 9 - 10 people. That's a nice dinner party!
Time to finish the base and sand. And sand, and sand. Talk to you in a few days.
