Tonight was delivery night for this large hutch. The last picture was the original antique piece that was unfortunately lost in a house fire. I redesigned it based off of that original photo, and a door and inner shelf that had been salvaged that I was able to pull some measurements off. Besides the beaded back panel, this is solid red oak with a quarter sawn red oak face, doors, and drawer fronts. Stain was matched to their dining table, and antique hardware was sourced. A few updates were added such as soft close hinges and drawer slides.
This was by far the largest (and heaviest) project that I have done to date, and was such a confidence builder as a woodworker. Nothing will ever replace the original, but I hope I got it close. So grateful to be able to work on this.
